OUR STORY
Infiniti Performance Strength & Speed opened their doors in Bellport, NY late in 2004 to serve the athletic community, and provide a venue for youth fitness. At the time we were only the second facility in Suffolk County to provide such a service. We have grown over the years, as has the industry. Like any other burgeoning industry, many new competitors entered the marketplace in the years that followed. This is wonderful, in that it offers the customer options, and also demands that existing businesses continue to improve and provide valued experiences for their clients. However, when searching for a facility/training staff, one must understand that it is not always “apples to apples”. Do your due diligence and ask questions that matter. Group size and grouping protocol? We schedule each small group carefully..we do not run open classes. Individualized programs or “one size fits all”?
We implement highly-specific programs to address your weaknesses and meet your objectives. Periodization, or random progression/delivery of exercises?
There are 4 “seasons” in each athlete’s calendar. Appropriate progressions and protocol within these seasons should be the norm…but they are not. W.O.D? Really? Certification level of trainers?
WE ARE VERY PROUD OF THE FACT THAT ALL OF OUR TRAINERS HOLD THE HIGHEST CERTIFICATION IN THE WORLD!
It is universally recognized that the National Strength & Conditioning Association’s title of Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) is the absolute pinnacle of the profession. Additionally, we have two Doctors of Physical Therapy on staff as performance trainers. Please take the time to realize that we provide a service which is different from most others in the industry…choose wisely!
If you do…we’re likely to see you soon!
OUR PHILOSOPHY
NUTRITION – “FEED THE MACHINE!”
An athlete has nutritional demands far greater than the average person. If we are to ask our body to complete superior tasks, we must give it the fuel to do so. We will educate you in the principles of proper nutrition whether your goals are weight loss, gaining lean muscle mass, or body re-composition. Infiniti Performance will also advise athletes on game-day nutrition, and hydration guidelines. All this at no cost to you!
EDUCATION – “MOTIVATION THROUGH EDUCATION!”
Knowledge gives it’s wielder a tremendous edge. Infiniti Performance is steadfast in our belief that the athletes in our charge will remain motivated if they understand what they are doing, why they are doing it, and how it translates to their sport. Safety procedures for every exercise are explained and preached constantly in hope that the participant will implement such when on their own. Having said that, we will always focus on providing an ongoing learning environment for our clients.
ACTIVE DYNAMIC WARM-UP
Can you prepare to move by standing still for extended periods of time?
Should you move slowly, or not at all, to prepare yourself to move quickly?
Should you sit down and be still to prepare your body to move on its feet?
…NO, NO, ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!
Dynamic Warm-up or Movement Preparation is to be performed prior to physical activity. The purpose is to increase core body temperature which allows muscle, tendons, and ligaments to become more pliable and effective. It will enhance circulation by distributing blood flow and proper nutrients to all muscle groups. Proper application will also prepare the body for performance by increasing neuromuscular firing rate and capacity. Infiniti Performance has designed our very own movement preparation model. This well-conceived dynamic warm-up is the very first thing that we teach our clients, and an instructional packet with photographs is given to each new client and coach.
PRE-HABILITATION – “STAY IN THE GAME!”
One of our major goals at Infiniti Performance is to pre-habilitate the athlete. Pre-habilitation consists of identifying markers that predispose an athlete to injury. Our aim is to then correct whatever may be in deficit; be it muscular weakness, muscle imbalance, flexibility, or any combination thereof. In addition, we all know that the fatigued athlete is more prone to injury, so overall conditioning takes on even more value. Having a season or career end prematurely could be avoided if addressed early enough. Female athletes are at a tremendous risk of suffering a knee injury. In fact, they are eight (8) times more likely to suffer a torn ACL than their male counterpart! We do extensive work with our female clients to minimize that risk.
PERIODIZATION
In order to prevent the incidence of overtraining or detraining, the strength coach must implement a well-devised, periodized training program. Periodization is a systematic approach used to identify the conditions of optimal preparation for peak performance and to ensure readiness for important competitions throughout the season. Specific phases of training are designed to optimize strength and power gains for peak performance. Peak performance occurs when fitness and fatigue differences are maximized. Modification and tapering of specific activities are tailored to ensure continuation of performance gains and reduce potential for injury. Simply put…our programs are devised to have you ready at the right time!
INDIVIDUALIZATION
“NOT JUST SPORT-SPECIFIC! NOT JUST POSITION-SPECIFIC! BUT ALSO YOU-SPECIFIC!!!”
Infiniti Performance does NOT rely on “cookie cutter” training programs for our clients. Each client is best served with a program specific to their needs and goals. Initially, all clients age 12 years and older will undergo a comprehensive musculoskeletal evaluation performed by a licensed physical therapist. These physiological tests and measures will provide detailed information relative to an athlete’s strengths and weaknesses. Once the specific deficiencies are identified, we then devise a program to convert weaknesses into strengths. The client expresses their specific goals and objectives, and our Director of Training constructs a program to reach our objectives. The client is periodically re-assessed by the performance coach to ensure that they are making proper gains toward their respective developmental goals.
